Maybe it’s because I’m a musician, but the word wave immediately made me think of different musical terms/genres such as ‘new wave’ and ‘no wave’.
If you go visit allmusic.com and make a search for song titles with the word ‘wave’, the name Antonio Carlos Jobim pops up.. but then again he’s from Brazil and somehow […]

Today in the main Copenhagen-pedestrian-street “Strøget” this guy managed to play “Für Elise”, “Memory” and several other all-time-musical favourites on glasses containing various amounts of water.
(Hard to say whether those were half full or hald empty :-)
Speaking of museums with great architecture and a wavy twist…
Yesterday I went to Louisiana - the museum of modern art spectacularly draped on the coastline north of Copenhagen. They featured a great new exhibition called ‘Frontiers of Architecture 1′.
The exhibition left no doubt, that there’s definately a new wave of wavy architecture on the roll…the […]

This summer I visited the Guggenheim Bilbao. Outside the museum is another wavy structure: a fog sculpture by Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya. The sculpture is a kind of wavy vent from which steam comes up and creates a foggy mist - on an otherwise sunny day. Very appealing to children and childish adults.
The artist herself […]

Meanwhile, on the other side of the island…
- in Luddes Hus (House of Ludde), Kirsten Holm is exhibiting her ceramic vases. These finest ones are titled “Currents”.

The piece is a seemingly ordinary cup of coffee placed on a windowsill a few metres away from the actual office of the minister. Every 10 seconds, a mechanism triggers shockwaves (well, more like […]

On May 2nd my local fountain had mysteriously turned green. Might have been the reminisence of the May 1st-political manifestations. Might simply be an alternative spring-celebration. Might have been a joke on the highspeed trend of always carrying around a bottle of ‘natural spring water’.
I really don’t know. Fact is, however, that the green dye […]

Yesterday the sun was shining bright and it was a blessing that my job for the day was to go to ‘Louisiana - Museum of Modern Art’ to interview the director.
The setting of the museum is spectacular - right on the seaside, overlooking the waves and the Swedish coast. A ‘daylight museum’ where the art, […]
