Wavy F.O.G.

This summer I visited the Guggenheim Bilbao. Outside the museum is another wavy structure: a fog sculpture by Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya. The sculpture is a kind of wavy vent from which steam comes up and creates a foggy mist - on an otherwise sunny day. Very appealing to children and childish adults.
The artist herself explains that with her fog sculptures she would like to remove people’s prejudice over fog, that it’s bad for traffic, for airplanes etc: “The modern age makes the fog a monster, a bad guy…”
