How else to recieve your mail when living on a houseboat?
August 2nd, 2007 by Nadja
Last summer I had the privilege to houseboat-sit one of the amazing houseboats in Lake Union, Seattle. What an amazing life: to be alive, asleep and awake on the rolling wake of waterplanes landing and small boats cruising the subbtle waters.
And as the icing on the cafe, this is what the mailboxes looked like:
P.S. : Trivia-quiz of the day: Two American acters both starred in two romantic movies that are – in very diffenret ways – both very relevant to this post? Who are they – and what were the movies?

Yay! I know that :-) Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks played longing lovers in Slepless in Seattle and … You’ve got Mail. The latter, however referring to e-mail, not snail-mail. On the other hand, Sleepless in Seattle featured actual paper love-letters.
Both movies were pretty silly, though. Combining Hanks and Ryan is just too much niceness for one movie to handle.
@ Frk. Jensen: VEEEERY good! Applause!
And yes – you’re right. You’ve got mail was most certainly so about e-mail. From the very early childhood of e-mail that is (infact it allready seems quite dated)
And the niceness-factor of the all-american lovebirds…oh yes. I agree!
