Yellow and white

To me dandelions are like the rip tide of desire. I find the delicate, intricate snowballs absolutely irrestistable. To me they represent ideas, waves, trends and themes that are about to burst. That sublime moment just before something big, new and uncontrolable is about to happen. Explode. Spread in unpredictable patterns.

They are just waiting for me to exhale. They are begging me for the simple breath of air that will help them revitalise and spread their yellow glow on other laws and flowerbeds.

But I hestitate. I know they will be uninvited guests. They will be considered weed and will be rapidly exterminated by the proud surrounding gardeners who are busy planting and fertilizing their invited, planned flowers. The dandelions, however, are not welcome due to their uncontrollable and unpredictable spreading…

Why is it that ideas, trends and waves that spread uncontrollably like the seeds of a dandelion scare us so much?
