Want to live your life above the waves? Buy a country in the sea!

The self-declared micronation Sealand is for sale (or rather: “available for transfer” - as countries cannot be “sold”!), so if you’ve got the funds, you can own your own haven in the waves. You will be close to European metropolitan areas, yet all by yourself in the wild and rugged sea, outside British jurisdiction.

Sealand was built as a sea fort during WWII and is thus not an oil rig, but what Sealand and oil rigs do have in common is the closeness to the sea, Sealand

 as well as the constant dance between you and the waves. As singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom sings, “waltzing with the open sea.”

    According to Wikipedia, “a sum of between £65,000,000 and £504,000,000 (US$ 998 Million, €750,000,000) is set as the price for the new tenant(s).Offers of “eight digits or over” are being solicited.”

    Count me out though :-)
