Rip tide of desire

New to this site…but one of the most powerful waves in my life is smoke, those

waves of nicotine addiction
that ebb and flow,
dragging you under like
a rip tide taking you out to a sea of
dangerously seductive desire

Oh wauw…wonderfully politically incorrect in times where puritanism rules our eating-, exercising- and smokinghabits.

I bet you…in a few years from now the everchanging worldwide trend-waves will mean a big return of bad habits, slacking and enjoying life’s little pleasures… I’ve never been a smoker myself - but I do know - and appreciate - the feeling of dangerously seductive desire…

Ahhh… the rolling of cigarettes in thin sheets of paper. Rolling, relaxing, releasing. Yes, like floating on a wave.
And bringing my water pipe outdoors - the scents, the sweetness, the moisture so painlessly absorbed into my self.

I love your comments. Actually, I think many addictions may make people feel this way. Gambing may do it for some. Rock climbing for others. Illicit affairs for many. Scientists say it’s the brain tissue called the insula that helps push people into reaching for the next cigarette, risky affair or line of cocaine.

    Or is it?
