I recently visited the new museum of urban planning i Beijing.

It is a highly recommendable sight for anyone remotely interested in city planning and architecture.

They have great models showing the ambitious plans for the city’s rapid growth in for the coming years, a great section on the environmental intiatives that are to make the highly polluted and ‘constipated’ city cleaner and greener. AND they have huge exhibitions on the Beijing Olympics.

One of the models that really caught my attention was the model of the coming water stadium…check out what the facade and roof will look like:
